Today's Picture to Ponder Photos
Having fun, once again, with Reflections, this time in the "windshield" of a docked boat
Interestingly, as we were walking past several boats on Mother's Day, the first thing that caught my eye, as I glanced at the window in this one, was my reflection and how much slimmer I looked here as contrasted with what I see in my mirror at home. I thus started playing, taking several pictures. After a few shots of Sam and me, I called our two Florida grandchildren over to see how they would come out. They, too, got caught up in the fun.
I especially like the top photo for the overall colors and patterns we see. The second two photos I love for the expressiveness of both Kaitlyn and Ryan. The fact that the lower photo is somewhat blurred adds to the overall softness and love expressed.
Once again, I am also intrigued by the fact that what's inside the boat appears to be a part of the reflection, rather than the objects that they are, something to which I referred in another recent issue.
Those of you who are new subscribers to Picture to Ponder might enjoy checking out the above-mentioned issue where I shared reflections in large windows of an office building and included reflective queries and suggestions for playing with them yourself.
For those who especially enjoy the photos, you can see an album with of a variety of my reflections pictures on FlickR.
Self-Reflecting Queries
The photos in featured in today's issue are mainly about noticing where we have fun and what lights us up as individuals, rather than about reflections as such.
As this subejct matter seems to be something that visually keeps getting my attention, what is it that most intrigues you in your visual world?
Is it colors? textures? patterns? lines? What gives you most joy to experience visually?
If you do not have an immediate answer, I invite you to pay attention the next few days to where you suddenly smile when you see something. Or, perhaps it's a different kind of visceral reaction.
You might even make a mental, or physical, note of this so that you can go for a similar experience at a time you would like to experience a like response in the future.
As always, have fun with this AND give yourself permission to be vain (i.e. proclaiming myself slimmer) if that shows up for you.
