Today's Picture to Ponder Photo
a Sunset in Green Cay Wetlands in September. I mention the month because I sometimes wonder if sunsets vary at different times of the year. It's a thought I've yet to investigage.
I recently happened on this photo in my files and include it here for beauty of the reflections, per our seeming theme in the past few issues, and for the wonderful feeling of peace and serenity it offers. Unintentionally, it also works as a good follow-up on my Wednesday's mailing regarding the peace and serenity of the Banana Sky DVD.
Self-Reflecting Queries
My mind, as I've mentioned many times, always seems to be in high gear, as I'm sure yours is also. For me, walking by water with my camera has a settling effect.
Although I'm not always photographing, I like the security of having my camera with me. This way if my eye is captured by something special, I don't get in the beating-myself-up space for not having the camera.
Are there common areas in your life where criticizing YOURself is automatic? If so, is there a trigger you might want to create to shift the criticism into a positive?
Also, what is it that you do that has a settling effect for you? Do you take full advantage of it? As I'm thinking about my water walks, I'm also realizing that I could spend time simply "being" in one spot for more than a transitory moment or two, akin to meditation.
This leads to another project for myself, which is to actually pay attention to the feelings, in the moment, to take them with me when I need them.
Do you have method, finger-snapping or some other trigger, for recalling, then recreating, your special moments of quietude?
Have a peaceful, serene weekend.
