Today's Picture to Ponder Photo
Pink Begonia Flowers in the American Orchid Society Gardens
As I was searching for a photograph to feature in today's Picture to Ponder, these begonias caught my attention. They were seemingly all by themselves - alone - among a wide range of totally different flowers and plants. In most cases there was more than one shot of varying views of each of the other plants in their surrounding area at the Orchid Center.
Though I don't recall what had me turn my camera to this one stem of begonias several weeks ago, today I am responding to the softness of the flowers. That soft texture is continued in the leaves in the muted background that is such a perfect color for contrast here. I also like the twinkling of the little flashes of light.
The richness of the feeling of this photo came across more fully in the larger size that I first saw on my monitor. To compare for yourself, see BEGONIA LARGER.
Looking at the larger photo, again reminds me that experiencing flowers more fully in this way is one of the benefits you will find in owning PICTURES TO PONDER: Inspired Journaling. All the photographs in that book, downloaded or in print, are six inches in width. Susan Fitzpatrick, from England, wrote:
"I also purchased your Inspired Journaling downloadable book some time ago and think it's wonderful - A great idea and really beautifully done."
When asked how she uses it, she wrote back, "When I want inspiration for something to think about for my journal (a separate book), I look through and find a photo that appeals to me just then. I then print it along with its corresponding page, and use that as a starting point."
Angela Skene, from Canada, said, "I keep the spiral-bound PICTURES TO PONDER on my desk at all times. Each day I turn the pages to the flower that appeals to me in the moment, then prop it up on my desk to inspire me throughout my work day!"

Self-Reflecting Queries
Today is probably the first time I departed in format in the photo description section of the issue. In addition to the pictorial commentary, I actually used the space to promote one of my products that could very well make a difference for you. Buyers of both the book and the DVD have been commenting on their favorable experiences.
The little girl [me] who, at age 5, felt like a beggar when standing on a corner
in Philadelphia selling artificial poppies to support the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) is starting to grow up. I'm not certain I actually felt that way at the time AND it is the feeling I was left with in my memory bank.
The growing up part reflects my willingness to start letting go of that "beggar" feeling, reminding myself that I am in business, recognizing that I am simply offering people opportunities. They are in charge of their decisions.
Are there places in your life right now, where you are allowing old messages to prevent you from moving forward? If so, I invite you to take a new action or actions. Remember you may even have been the one who made up the story that's holding you back.
Lastly, you might still be wondering how this all relates to today's photo. Going back up to look at it, we see a strong line and angular direction in the main stem - decisiveness.
In the center a smaller stem comes down and flowers split in opposite directions, giving us clear choices
of differing paths to follow. Going to the left seems open and clear, to the right somewhat clogged.
What direction will you choose today?
