Today's Picture to Ponder Photos
Banana and Palm leaves - reflections and shadows
In choosing today's photos the one I use for my "wallpaper" on my computer's screen popped out at me. It occurred to me that the timing was also perfect to share it since I've started actively promoting the Banana Sky DVD.
The top photo is another shot where I zoomed in with my camera for a closer look of the play of shadows and light. I love the whole movement and dance of light and line in this one.
Self-Reflecting Queries
As I look at the two photos here I begin to wonder why I am even including the full scene one. Then I realize it's about the difference between the small size shown here and experiencing it greatly enlarged on my monitor.
On the other hand the close-up, which feels so great in the smaller size, becomes almost overpowering when I stare at the full-screen size for any length of time.
As I reflect on what messages or queries come from these two photos, I realize that again it's the opportunity to look at the stepping away, as well as the focusing in, on situations in our own lives.
Are there any places in your life now where you are so accepting of an overall view of a situation that you never get into various segments that might provide new openings?
Conversely, are there places in that same situation where the intensity of the focus is so great that you may be blocked, feeling like you are facing a wall? If so, I invite you to step back and see what else might become available for you.
Note: Both of these photos are among the 104 photos that smoothly transition from one to another in the Banana Sky DVD.
As another aside, when the close-up photo "appeared" to be featured today, I looked closely and realized that it was the same photo I used for the background of the DVD label! It was interesting to observe an example of how our love for something can permeate and influence so many areas of our lives.
APOLOGIES
To my chagrin, I learned, after an hour on the phone with a PayPal technician, that the bananaskydvd.com link in my special mailing announcing the preview was not allowing you to move into their secure site to complete payment on your orders. I am so sorry for any frustrations and inconvenience this caused.
BONUS
If you were one of the people who had this challenge and gave up (I would have), please go back to the BANANA SKY DVD order page to process again. When you get to the final payment page there is a comment box. Simply note in there that you attempted ordering on Thursday or Friday, or e-mail me directly to let me know. I will include with your order an added bonus of a blank note card with my prize-winning banana pod photo/drawing. The 5"X7" card is suitable for framing.
