Today's Picture to Ponder Photos
Sliced end of a Strawberry in a plastic storage cup
As I was about to discard these remnants, after slicing strawberries, I looked down and saw a face with a smile and bright red hair and a wild green hat. Of course, I went for my camera and took my lens down into the cup.
I kept the accidental arrangement, putting it aside, to see what would happen in another day or so. Thus photos two and three were taken this morning, a day and a half later. We see she's lost her charm, though the shriveled green leaves still have a nice rhythm.
I found the patterns in the white, especially in the night photo, especially intriguing in that their source was not clear. Are they reflections of the table through the plastic? (see Self-Reflecting Queries for the answer)
Photo number three is included here for you, as a frame of reference, simply to show what I was actually photographing!
Self-Reflecting Queries
I thought today's queries were going to be about being open to whatever catches your attention and then viewing that in different ways. There certainly is an element of this here. On the other hand, I really started laughing with my discovery, after my investigative self took over, and I knew I had to share my experience.
I was doing all kinds of guessing, making up stories, as to what the white patterns were and then curiosity, the desire to "really" know took over. I went back to the kitchen this morning, picked up the container, looked at, then felt the outside and inside of the cup.
Lo and behold, it was mayonaisse, today still soft but dry!!! I had used the container to store cole slaw and after it was gone simply put the strawberry leftovers in there as I was slicing.
Now continuing with some of our underlying themes, can you find some places in your life where you have made up elaborate stories, the actuality of which might be totally different?
Also, are there things you have been ignoring which might provide some meaning or fun for you, if you simply looked at them? Who would have thought there would be so much available from a used plastic cup holding strawberry remnants.
Lastly, I invite you to find some imagery with which you can play and have fun through picture-taking, writing, or simply sharing in a conversation with another person.
