Today's Picture to Ponder Photo
Cordial Glasses next to the faucet in our guest bathroom
The first thing that caught my eye when I saw this layout yesterday afternoon was the simplicity of the "scene." I then became intrigued with the reflections, so I went for my camera. I was also reminded of the pride I felt the previous evening when I had come up with a clever solution to a minor challenge. Lastly, as I reflected on the photographs, I experienced delight in when I suddenly recognized our granddaughter's creativity.
On the lighter side, for those of you who have fun when I, or you, find faces in my photographs, there are certainly some in this one with which you can play.
Self-Reflecting Queries
MY STORY - Our granddaughter slept at our home the other night. Just before going to bed she came and asked me if I, by any chance, still had a contact lens case from the days when I wore contacts. (It's probably been over 10 years!) Despite all that I save, that's one thing I told her that I did not have.
Realizing that what she really needed was a place to store her lenses in fluid overnight, I immediately thought of these cordial glasses, each small enough for a single lens to fit in comfortably, while not requiring a large amount of the contact lens solution. I felt so clever. I left the rest up to her, how to determine which glass held the right lens, which the left.
When I looked at the photo, I realized that placing one glass on each side of the faucet was Kaitlyn's answer for that. How perfect!!
YOUR STORY - I now invite you to query into something you've done recently, in which you've felt great pride, where you have been creative. It does not necessarily have to be "big." Certainly my "cordial glass story" is not a huge accomplishment. It's merely an example of finding an answer to a challenge. Creativity is not limited to the arts. It's simply a decision-making process.
What have you come up with? Are you feeling the pride? If so, where in your body do you feel it? I find myself becoming more erect as I am mindful of my "proud" moments.
Are you comfortable sharing your accomplishments? Or, does it feel like "boasting?" If so, is "boasting" okay with you?
If not, is there something from your past that says you shouldn't "brag?" If so, I invite you to play with
shouting out your accomplishments, even if it's to an empty room. Keep expressing it/them until you are feeling comfortable with what you are expressing, matter-of-fact about it. Acknowledge yourself for being that creative person.
As always, have fun with this!
