Today's Picture to Ponder Photo
grasses and palm leaves at the entrance to Wakodahatchee Wetlands
There were several pictures from yesterday's walk that were in consideration for sharing with you and the scene above is the one that kept both Sam's and my attention the longest, as we reviewed them.
I particularly appreciate the strong diagonals with the contrast of the soft spaces in the openings between. Originally, the wispy grasses, the long, fine-line verticals in the center, were what had me stop with my camera. I was attracted to their delicacy. Now it's the strong contrasts that draw me in, with a feeling of ultimate peace.
Self-Reflecting Queries
I get a feeling of "safety" as I am drawn into the many spaces, large and small beyond the very strong leaves. Though they could be construed as barriers, there is such a feeling of "invitedness" on the other side, that I am comfortable being in the space.
Are there places in your life where you are being held back? Places, where if you paused and looked, you might see a variety of spaces, i.e. opportunities or possibilities, into which you can step? If so, I invite you to take those moves.
And, in a somewhat different conversation, I found it interesting to observe that, in looking at the light section in the upper right and left, I feel like I am observing water, undoubtedly because I had just come from a walk where the boardwalk is mainly over water. In fact, what we are looking at is the parking lot surface.
I invite you to check in your own life to see where you might be viewing things from your expectations, rather than what's actually there.
And, speaking of expectations, many of you may assume that my photo art is mainly flowers, plants, birds and water scenes. If so, I invite you to check out Zoo Animals (links below) and Trucks in our Gift Shop, both of which non-subscribing shoppers seem to appreciate. Enjoy.
