TODAY'S PHOTO -
center of a large hibiscus flower that was in the Palm Beach Flower and Garden show in 2005
A client was going through the over 300 photos featured in Picture to Ponder in the last year and a half as she selected 5 for use as the cover art for her Meditation Workshop CD Series that is about to be launched. In the process of searching my computer for one of her choices, the hibiscus center featured in Issue 56 of Picture to Ponder, I re-discovered the above photo.
I was immediately captivated by dancing, free-spirited motion of the delicate petals, particularly the one on the right, contrasted with the mysterious depths of the rich, dark center.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
Looking at the rich contrast in the hibiscus center photo above, I begin to think about all of the contrasts we as individuals both display and cover up.
I invite you to look at some of your layers. Are there parts of you which you have hidden where opening up would bring joy to you and others? Is there a richness still hiding in your center?
I invite you all, and I'll include myself, to play full out so that your inner beauty radiates out into the world. Tap into that which best expresses you, be it writing, photographing, painting, crafting, movement, creating music, or ??
The hibiscus flower, when its bloom is finished, closes in and shrivels to almost nothing. Let's leave a legacy of full, self-expression, nothing left to be covered up.
Somehow, today's queries seem to me to have a "heavy" note. Perhaps because I'm referencing being shriveled up. So I especially invite you to take on the queries looking for the ways in which you can HAVE FUN.
PET PORTRAITS by an ARTIST FRIEND -
In the event that you missed this Friday, I am repeating the same message. If you haven't clicked on the Art Paw link below and you'd like a fun break, why not do it now.
It has been quite while since I've mentioned my dear friend and mentor, Rebecca Collins, who set up naturesplayground.com, my first website, and guided me in expanding and taking off on my own.
I class Rebecca among the few "most-creative-people" that I know. Recently I went to her Art Paw Gift Shop (Click here again, if you get an error message the first time) and had a grand time, despite the fact that Sam and I do not own any pets. I invite you to go there and have fun also. Be sure to check out the "Dog Art Clients Pupdated often" link. I particularly enjoyed the "Dogs PlayPoker" series.
ANOTHER SHOP you might enjoy -
I regularly get email from Joe Vitale or friends of his and really was intrigued the other day to find that he, too, now has a Cafe Press Dr. Joe Vitale Gift Shop with numerous Marketing, Manifesting and Abundance slogans and quotes on a variety of products. Some of you might appreciate a visit there also.
