TODAY'S PHOTO -
leaf from the crown of a very large strawberry on our table and then, in the second photo, transported and overlaid, via Photoshop Elements 3, to wood on which an anhinga had been resting in Wakodahatchee Wetlands.
After cleaning strawberries, I was about to trash the greens (which I do include for the vitamins when making shakes ) when this one caught my eye. It was glistening with water drops which, at the time, looked like tiny jewels. I put it aside to photograph in both the dry and wet states and on different backgrounds. The one that showed up the best was photographed on the table.
Because something about the image of this leaf kept and keeps attracting me, I decided to share it with you. I love it and all the dimensions to it. Also the photo is ripe with imagery, I think, for those of you who write and might enjoy playing with it.
My thoughts continued on with the idea that for some it might fall flat as a "pretty picture." I, thus, was compelled to get creative and isolate the leaf, putting it on a different background. Now I'm really smiling at the mystery of the new image. Could it be a rare variety of Water Peackock (imaginary)? What else could it be?
If seeing beauty in the heretofore unnoticed "ordinary" appeals to you; if you'd like to play with your imagination and share your creativity with a small group; consider joining us in the Photo/Creativity teleclasses , which start in two weeks.
You might want to give the course, or claim it from a loved one, as an Easter or Passover gift or as an early Mother's Day gift.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
Continuing on with my observations above, I once again invite you to pay attention to the "little" things, or glimpses, in both sight and sound that catch your eye or your ear.
What are they? How can you expand on them? In what ways do they enrich you?
If you take a small action around what you've noticed, do you see yourself, opening up more, and possibly making a difference in a relationship or a
situation that's challenging you?
Interestingly, for me, a marketing piece for the upcoming classes came out of what began here today simply as a sharing of something that excited me. In the past I would have negated adding the "marketing" and I have grown, with your support, thank you, to be able to comfortably share my passion for opening your eyes and making a difference.
In what areas have YOU seen yourself transforming? Is there more you would like to be doing? If "yes" and you know the actions you'd like to take, I invite you to do so.
Happy and fun discovering sights and sounds you've not noticed before.
