TODAY'S PHOTO -
the core of a head of yellow cauliflower - two views one with night light, one with day.
I like the feeling of openness and dancing I get when I view
these two images. I also like the beauty and structure of some of the shapes when I focus in on small sections of the core, especially the very bottom portion in the top photo.
This weekend I saw bags with 2 heads of yellow cauliflower for $1.00! Naturally, I bought a bag. I had never seen yellow cauliflower before and I certainly could not pass up the bargain. And, if you are wondering, I did not find the flavor very different, if at all, from white cauliflower, at least not in the raw state which is how I eat it.
Because the cauliflower was so different, in color, I was moved to take several photos of it from different angles. They became most interesting when I started playing with the center "tree" and noticed some new shapes as mentioned above.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
Once I started taking photos it occurred to me that the cauliflower in shape and texture was no different from the broccoli, which we eat almost daily. I then, of course, went for the camera and offer you a clickable thumbnail so you see this also. |
|
In the broccoli/cauliflower photo the two vegetables look the same except for color. Because of the seeming difference, I was drawn to study and spend time with the yellow cauliflower and found no visual differences.
Are there places in your life where you might be favoring a task or person simply because one thing is different and stands out for you? If you looked closely might there be other people or situations where there are far more commonalities than you might have thought, characteristics and traits that you, in fact, especially appreciate?
If so, how can you use this discovery to empower you?
As always, have fun with this.
