TODAY'S PHOTO -
Gerber Daisies in the bedding in front of our home
These Gerber Daisies called to my camera, earlier this week, as I was walking up the path to our door. The strong, late afternoon sunlight is part of what drew my attention to the flowers. The magic of the camera brought it out further in more brilliant detail.
Before presenting the photo here, I played with adjusting the shadows and highlights in Photoshop and decided to leave it exactly as it appeared on my monitor. There is something dramatic in the brilliance of the scene that I want to retain.
It's my wish that this photo will brighen your day, especially anyone who might be experiencing gray and dingy weather, either physically or emotionally.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
As I studied this Gerber daisies photo for SRQs for today, I observed that the flowers that are most brilliant and lit up are the two which are facing upwards. The ones looking down are in the shadows and more gray. It's obvious in this case that this was a reflection of where the sun was shining directly into the flowers and where it was not.
I point it out simply as a metaphor for our lives. I invite you to pay attention during the next few days and make note of what lights up your life. Are there places where you are currently looking downwards, where the shifting of your view might bring brilliance and light? If so, will you flick on the switch?
Have a bright and shining weekend.
