TODAY'S PHOTO -
a wine red-colored paphiopedilum, commonly known as a Lady Slipper
To energize and refresh my spirit this morning, as well as find some new photos for you, my camera and I visited the American Orchid Society greenhouse and gardens, another of my favorite spots not too far from our home.
After viewing all of my downloaded photos, I selected this particular flower to share today for the dancing, welcoming feeling I get from it. Ms. Lady Slipper has on her "Sunday-best" hat, welcoming with open arms all of you new subscribers and thanking all those of you who have been subscribing for some time.
I see her also as waving you into a light, free-flowing fun weekend.
As I am about to move onto the next section, it occurred to me that some of you might be, trying to fit together body parts, wondering about my personification here. I would assume that most of you, if not all, see the "face" with the green nose. If I confused you referring to the arms, know that I'm taking artistic liberty. The "arms" are, in fact, on top of the head under the broad-brimmed, pointed "hat".
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
On a deadline to get this out and get to an appointment, I am "stuck" for queries today. Usually they come as I type.
So I will make the choice to fulfill on my commitments and leave the creating of "relevant" queries up to you this weekend. It seems the themes that came as I wrote the description are "welcoming," my usual "finding other images or points" in what's in front of us, and "artistic license" to use or see things that are not the way they usually are.
SHARING READER COMMENTS - I have received some very thought-provoking and insightful responses from some of you to this week's issues of Picture to Ponder -V2-Issue 2 and V2-Issue 3. I would love for you to have seen many of them. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to copy and pass them on.
It would be great if more of you started sharing your comments on the Picture to Ponder BLOG and then readers can be directed there. I chose Typepad as the location for the blog - www.sheilafinkelstein.typepad.com/picture_to_ponder - because it is so easy to post comments. Those with web sites can also link your URLs to your names and get added exposure.
When you go to the BLOG,
you'll see the current issue and photo and a link at the end for Posting Comments. To see the photo
ENLARGED at the same size you see it here, simply click
on it.
Lastly, if posting on a blog is not your style, please continue to send your comments directly to me . Learning what you are experiencing means a lot. It is part of the reward of Picture to Ponder for me.
