TODAY'S PHOTO -
3 roses to wish you a Happy, Healthy, Joyous, Prosperous and fun-filled New Year. You get to choose which will represent 2005 for you as we say good-by to this year and which will symbolize the soon-to-be here 2006. For some, as you read, it may already be 2006.
"What would be the perfect photo to bring New Year's greetings to you all," was the question in my thoughts over the past 24 hours. Since it's been quite a while since flowers have shown up in Picture to Ponder, I started looking for some new ones to photograph. I chose an hibiscus late yesterday afternoon and this morning woke up thinking "roses."
I really don't know what roses symbolize and somehow they seem to be appropriate for the occasion.
A stop at my local Publix supermarket and placement in a vase on my back lawn resulted in ultimately the miniature roses, you see above, 3 from the 32 that grace the 6 stems.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
For this issue, I leave the creating of queries to you. Will it serve you to reflect on the past year and to plan for the new one?
If "yes", what questions would be most meaningful?
Have a beautiful weekend filled with love. If there are not loved ones or places around where you are right now, I invite you to find a stranger or an activity where you can express the joy or light that's within you.
In the supermarket this morning, I was annoyed that someone cut in front of me. I went to a different line and rather than standing there "stuffing" my annoyance, which I've done a lot of lately, I started a conversation with a 5 year old about his baby sister who was in the shopping cart.
The end result is that I had fun and, out of a question I asked, the mother heard something from her son
that she had never known. She was lit up and I felt like a different person.
For those who might be curious, the question I asked was what did he most remember about when his baby sister came home from the hospital. "Her face," was his thoughtful answer.
