TODAY'S
PHOTO -
Autumn leaves - a photo taken in
Laurence Harbor, NJ in 2001
Although it's probably a little early for full Autumn colors,
Thursday is the first day of Fall, so I'm featuring today's leaves.
Also, several of the participants in the last Photo/Creativity
teleclass are continuing on in a Camera Club with everyone working
on one theme for two weeks, the current one being Fall.
This becomes somewhat of a challenge
for me here in South Florida, not having much differential in
seasons. Autumn, is one of the biggest missings for me. In addition
to the crispness in the air I particularly miss the changing colors,
sometimes brilliant, of the leaves.
During my first "Autumn Away from Home" I realized that
I probably had hundreds , if not more, of photos from which I
could choose and hang to give me some of the feeling I was missing.
I did have fun creating a "photo collage" in a Photoshop
Elements course I was taking at the time. See MISSING
AUTUMN IN NJ You'll observe,
I'm sure, that today's photo is part of that collage.
I particularly love this photo because
of the variety of colors captured in the leaves, including the
lavenders, which may simply have occured from the scanning of
the photo. The diagonal thrust of the orange leaves is also
quite strong.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
Are there things in your environment that are missing for you
resulting from moves or other circumstances? Perhaps there are
even fond missings from your past upon which you reflect.
If "yes", what ways have you adapted? Have you been
able to create compensatory images or activities that are as
satisfying or more so? For me, though it's not comparing "leaves
to leaves", I do have the year-round lushness of one kind
of flower or another. And, I have my photos and memories.
Also, if you are in a geographic location which does not have
the "traditional" Northern seasons and you've found
other "signs" of seasonal changes that delight you,
I'd love to hear from you.
AUDIO TESTIMONIALS -
Have you yet checked out the 28
second message from Sondra who shares the impact on her
life of a custom photo/drawing of her father done by me?
Have you listened to Judith Tramayne-Barth and Renee Kleckner
on our AUDIO
LINKS page, where Judith also describes how easy it is to
record a message? I'd love to have your voice there also. A
sentence or two is more than enough, if you are person of a
few words.
I will publish the link for yours in Picture to Ponder and on
the testimonial
page on the eteletours site. You can call in yourself at
