TODAY'S PHOTO

miniature yellow roses, 1/2 inch in depth.
In my Photo/Creativity class, which somehow
seems to be ever present with me this week, an assignment I
gave on colors resulted in a dialogue between Stacey and Morgine.
Though the assignment was simply to focus on observing one or
two particular colors during the course of the week, Stacey
brought up some facts about the color red and Morgine went on
to research "red" and "yellow".
Among the attributes and benefits of yellow that Morgine described,
resulting from her research, were that it's a creative color,
self-confidence building, inspirational, relaxing yet stimulating
to the brain, soothing because it relieves tension.
I thought, "I could use all of that!" I, thus, went
out and bought these roses for our kitchen table and very large
yellow spider mums have been sitting on my desk this week.
Note also the touch of red on the roses. In responding to all
the reds Morgine had seen, Stacey pointed out, "There are
more red receptors in the eye than any other color." Morgine's
research continued.
In addition to the high energy, sometimes
negative, with which I've known red to be associated, her research
then came up with red's being the "color of warmth, love
and tenderness; a sensual color which helps build and stimulate
our senses." I like those. Thank you Stacey and Morgine.
In tems of this particular photo, I like the directional thrust
of the lines contrasted with the softness of the flowers. After
observing the picture for a while, Sam noted the "grabbing
hand" (which looks like a bird to me) in the negative space
on the bottom, left of center (the whiteish area). He's not
so sure he likes the photo anymore.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
Have you paid attention, recently, to how colors affect you?
Have you ever noticed how, when you select your clothes to wear
for the day, you might be attracted to some colors rather than
others and that this might vary from day to day?
Our choices might be affected by our mood. Conversely it's possible,
according to color theorists, to change our moods by changing
the colors we are wearing and the colors with which we surround
ourselves.
I invite you, in the next few days, to become more aware, than
you usually are, of the colors around you and those that you
pass along the routes that you travel.

AUDIO TESTIMONIALS -
Check out the new 28
second message from Sondra, who shares how a custom photo/drawing
of her father, done by Sheila, provided a major breakthrough
for her in being able to get past her many years of grief at
his loss, so that she can now enjoy photos of him.
Judith
Tramayne-Barth wrote to say, "When I wanted to make
an audio for Sheila, she made it really easy for me. She called
me and set up a 3 way call so I could record how wonderful I
think her ezine is and her artwork. I am sure she will do the
same for you. And she didn't even mind the blooper I made about
her art site name. (LOL)."
Check out Judith's and other Audio Testimonials on the new AUDIO
LINKS page.
I'd love to have your voice there also. A sentence or two is
more than enough, if you are person of a few words.
I will publish the link for yours in Picture to Ponder and on
the testimonial
page on the eteletours site. You can call in yourself at
(214) 231-2905 ext 6956 or, if you wish,
