TODAY'S
PHOTO -
a palm frond.
On the same evening neighborhood walk when I photographed yesterday's
hibiscus (confirmed as such) this large palm leaf grabbed my attention.
I initially saw it out of the side of my eye and, of course, stopped
and snapped several pictures, including one with a fuller
view.
Note the gentle half circle, in the upper right, more visible
in the fuller
view shot. The whole image, for me, radiates aliveness and
energy. Though the leaf splays out into a wide area it remains
centered at the core (bottom of the photo)
With this leaf, I wish you an alive, energetic and full weekend,
one where you too remain centered throughout.
Note: When asked for help in identifying this palm, field biologist
Janine Bacquie wrote, "It is probably a Chinese Fan Palm,
Livistona chinensis. Native to China and Southeast Asia, as well
as the Middle East and Africa. "
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
Sam and I have lived in our community for over 2 1/2 years now
and this week was the first I noticed this particular palm plant.
When attempting to check it out this morning a neighbor pointed
out that many of the houses are using it to camouflage the electrical
power boxes that are on our lawns.
I started comparing it with the other low cut palms and continued
to be impressed with the aliveness and grace of this plant.
My invitation to you is to spend some time this weekend looking
around you, noticing things you have
not seen before. You might make a list. Note what it is that is
attracting you and why.
Then remember those things that give you a smile and make you
feel good so that you can "visit" them again. In the
future, if they are no longer there, you may want to recreate
them in your mind, to recapture that feeling.
AUDIO TESTIMONIALS -
Check out the new 28
second message from Sondra, who shares how a custom photo/drawing
of her father, done by Sheila, provided a major breakthrough for
her in being able to get past her many years of grief at his loss,
so that she can now enjoy photos of him.
Judith
Tramayne-Barth wrote to say, "When I wanted to make an
audio for Sheila, she made it really easy for me. She called me
and set up a 3 way call so I could record how wonderful I think
her ezine is and her artwork. I am sure she will do the same for
you. And she didn't even mind the blooper I made about her art
site name. (LOL)."
Check out Judith's and other Audio Testimonials on the new AUDIO
LINKS page.
I'd love to have your voice there also. A sentence or two is more
