TODAY'S PHOTO -
a single yellow rose from an arrangement of roses.
The other day as I was working on the issue of Picture to Ponder
a delivery man rang my bell and asked if I'd take in a floral
arrangement for a neighbor who was not answering her door.
Once I finished what I was doing, before calling my friend, I
grabbed the flowers and my camera, setting up the arrangement
on my dining room table. She happened to come in just at that
point and was fine with what I was doing.
Of the several photos I took, Sam and I each chose a different
one to feature today. The one above and another. If you wish to
choose your favorite, click on the
second rose.
I love the richness of the yellows and the fullness of the yet-to-be-opened
portion of each of the flowers. The one above is rich and stately.
Boldly she stands. The yellow rose attached
is somewhat more coy and playful as she looks slightly to her
left, not directly at us. Yet her eye in the very center of her
being looks straight at me.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
comes from my having asked for Sam's opinion and then my not being
sure I wanted to go with his choice.
Food for thought - What happens for you when you ask for another's
input and choice? Do you feel obligated to go with his or her
decision? To talk him or her into your way of thinking? To set
it up in a different way when asking? Or, to simply not ask at
all? Or, are there other options that I missed?
This could, I think, make for interesting discussion in the COMMENTS
section on the blog AND if you have thoughts you'd like to share
with me and not publicly, please continue to e-mail them to me.
