TODAY'S
PHOTO -
by Sam, under the boardwalk in Ventnor, NJ, many years ago.
Sam and I were walking at Wakodahatchee yesterday when I said,
"I wonder what photo I should use tomorrow in recognition
of July 4th, for those who celebrate it in the States."
He said that he had the perfect fireworks photo.
Unfortuntately, we could not find that particular photo and
when seeing this boardwalk one, for which Sam one a prize, I
thought, "Perfect!" It has the sparkling lights, even
though it's sun, and it has a very definite direction - moving
forward into the weekend, into the month of July, into the rest
of your summer activities.
It also brings fitting memories for those of us from Philadelphia
(originally and now) who used to go to Atlantic City and other
area beaches on long holiday weekends and during the summer.
As I look at the photo I can feel the
cool sand, squishing between my toes, and feel the coolness
under the boards, as I remember escaping from the heat of the
sun. When our sons were young I spent a lot of time under the
smaller boardwalk in Bradley Beach, NJ.
I wonder what you feel?
If you have not already visited Sam's photos online, you can

SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
On this long week-end take some time to observe what lights
you up. Notice how your body responds when you're feeling peace
and when you're feeling joy. What other emotions show up strongly
for you?
Also, what fond memories, such as mine of under the boardwalk,
can you bring up and savor any time you wish or "need"
them?
And, lastly, pay attention to what you do this weekend. Look
for the moments and the scenes that will now become memories
for you to bring up and savor in the future.
Have a beautiful weekend, in whatever country you reside.
