TODAY'S
PHOTO -
orange flowers in one of the gardens at the Renaissance Hotel
in Orlando where we visited last month. I think that they are
a species of dahlias. Having checked dahlia, zinnia and daisy
flower images, including their leaves, on google, I'm staying
with my first inclination unless I learn otherwise. I even have
a call into the horticultural department at the hotel for the
answer.
I chose this particular view because of the rich colors and the
pattern that it's creating within itself. It's funny; looking
at it and, unintentionally, personifying it, I a couple of interpretations
popped out for me, including single mom with 4 children, one of
whom takes a back seat and remains somewhat "invisible".
The other has two parents, one very dominant, and 3 children,
again one hanging out in the background.
I have no idea where this "story" came from and since
I had the thought, I'm simply putting it out here. Hmmm. Looking
again I see that it would be 4 or 5 children. There is one on
the lower right that's barely discernible, behind the bolder one
front of it, on the far right.
Sam says that he gets the feeling of interlocking gears when looking
at the photo. He can see them moving both in the clockwise and
counter clockwise directions.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
My comments today have a couple of different queries come up for
me.
In attempting to identify the flowers, I spent a lot of time researching
and making phone calls. How much more efficient and time expedient
it would have been to simply get the information when I was at
the hotel! An investment of a few extra minutes would have saved
close to a 1/2 hour or hour in time.
Are there places in your life where you let things go to "save
time" and to handle later? Do
you see any patterns?
and, Relating to the last "child" I found when studying
the picture further - Is there a situation in your life right
now, where if you took a look and then looked again, you might
find something empowering that you hadn't noticed before?
