TODAY'S PHOTO
-
trumpet flowers over waterfalls in the American Orchid Society
Gardens.
This "scene" brings with it our wishes for a light,
joyful and magical weekend. Last night as I was thinking about
the sunset photo I was considering using to end this week, I
realized that there were no flower
photos featured this week.
Since feedback indicates that flowers are among the preferred
categories of photos, I went to the American Orchid Society
Gardens and Greenhouse this morning. Despite the fact that I
probably have 100s of flower photos in my files, I wanted to
fully experiencing being in the presence of the live flowers.
I chose the above photo, for the feeling of overall spontanaeity,
and aliveness I get from the whole view. I'm also including
a link for a closeup - See TRUMPET
FLOWER . Enjoy.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERY -
I am very fortunate to live close to some very wonderful nature
spots, which are part of my passion. I suspect that all of you
have some space, or spaces, you can claim as places that are
special to you.
I invite you to spend some time this weekend noticing them,
or noticing what ways you can create or recreate them when they
are not available. It might be through one of more of the arts
forms - painting, photographing, reading, writing, making music.
It may be in the actual creation. Or it might be in the participation
though listening and/or viewing.
As I mentioned, I could simply have spent time with my flower
photos, fully being in the presence of what I was seeing, as
well as in the recollections of the experience(s).
So, where can you go, be, do to experience feeling/being fully
alive this weekend? Have fun with it!
