LAST ISSUE'S IMAGE (ISSUE
#48 )-
Orchids in Selby Gardens.
LAST ISSUE'S IMAGERY
To me this was a
very playful picture. I saw dancing figures. Some of our
readers' responses emailed to me were similar to mine. Others
were totally different. The differences between those who see
the whole and those who see parts also became apparent. See
ISSUE
36 for the creative DNA discussion.
Marva Harvey wrote: "Now this one is obvious! :) It
is a floral crown for the faeries that inhabit the garden."
Sam Finkelstein stated: "It's a medallion, a very
expensive piece of jewelry. The spots are gemstones."
Mary Gray wrote: "My first thought was "Oh,
wow" at the colors and contrast of the speckles on the
blossoms. Then I thought these could be incoming aircraft. There's
kind of a sense of a squadron. But an exotic one, so then I
moved onto thinking of these as alien creatures. Then I saw
the unicorn on the left. Oh, wow!"
More closely akin to what I was seeing:
Debra Schanilec wrote: "LOL!!! THis is the first one
where I "see" something - merry-go-round figurines,
like a delicate horse or reindeer."
and Dellie Rosen: "Once more I am reminded of a very
graceful ballet with swirling skirts."
And, finally, for this conversation, when I emailed Marva,
asking about the crown, I sent her a
close-up of one of the individual figures,as I saw it. She
wrote back:
"Looking at the individual orchids on the cluster
there are ladies/angels/faeries swinging. I went back to look
again at the "legs" and then I saw clothespin dolls."
"Clothespin Dolls!" That nailed it for me. Thank
you Debra, Dellie, Marva, Mary and Sam for your contribution
to me and, thus, to the rest of us.
Has this conversation sparked anything different for you?
One of the observations made during the conclusion of our teleclass
phone call last night was that pausing to take a minute to look
longer at an image or situation allows for seeing things that
may not have been seen before.
At least once today, when you catch yourself walking,
physically or mentally, quickly past something, pause and
relook at it. Become aware. Does anything open up for you
as a result of this? Create a beautiful day.
